People, as members of democratic communities, have the inalienable right to live and be treated in terms of equality.
As engaged citizens we take action and contribute to society in a way that all human beings can enjoy the same rights and opportunities.
Our initiative falls within the framework of Sustainable Goal 10 of United Nations which primary objective is to reduce inequalities within and among countries.
"State parties shall take appropriate measures to ensure to persons with disabilities access, on an equal basis with others, to the physical environment, to transportation, to information and communications, including information and communications technologies and systems, and to other facilities and servives open or provided to the public"
United Nations
Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
U.N. Sustainable Goals
"The 17 Sustainable Development Goals are the world's best plan to build a better world for people and our planet by 2030"
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future.
At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all countries - developed and developing - in a global partnership. They recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve the oceans and forests.
In particularly, Sustainable Development Goal 10 has as its primary objective to reduce inequalities within and among countries. Inequalities based on income, sex, age, disability, sexual orientation, race, class, ethnicity, religion and opportunity. Threaten long-term social and economic development, harms poverty reduction and destroys people's sense of fulfilment and self-worth.
Moreover, and most importantly, inequality don't contribute in achieving a sustainable development and make the plannet better for all, instead lead people to be excluded from opportunities, services and the chance for a better life.
